CASE STUDY ACTIVITY

Mr. Smith is the father of a child with cerebral palsy, who is about to enter a preschool that practises inclusion. He is concerned about his child’s education and health needs. He was advised that the class will be taught by special education teacher and a teacher’s assistant. He has doubts about the staff being able to give his child proper care in a class with so many children who do not have special needs.

Do you think that Mr. Smith’s concerns are valid? If  so, explain why.

- How his child’s medical needs will be properly taken care of
- The teaching methods and developmentally appropriate practices and activities that will be used
- What role he can play in supporting his child’s learning and development in the inclusive setting

If so, explain why.mr .Smith's concerns are valid because being a special needs child you will need more attention than others and the teach might not be able to provide that attention to that child ,that child might not feel comfortable in that class room setting because he /she is the only one who is different .

    Mr. smith's we will set up a schedule for your child write down the time for his medication instructed the school nurse about the type of med and how much liter the child must get for the day. regarding our class work we will give choose activities that can help him to understand the lesson clearly like matching colours. you can help us by creating activities around your home like making him help you with cleaning his room put thing away like toy in toy baskets. Mr. smith's you can talk to the principal about your concern regarding your child medical needs she will glad address the matter for you .

    - How his child’s medical needs will be properly taken care of. Mr .Smith the school will need a list of your child medications and the time that it should be taken also we need to know if he/she has any side effects after taking the medications the school will provide a book where the medications will be listed and you will see who gave your child her medication for that day because they will sing to it also we will need you to sing at the end of the day and in the mornings also.
